Eric Vincent, born in 1961
A creator, in both the technical and artistic sense.
I lived through my young years with my father, who was a student and then a teacher at the « École BOULE », and who finished his teaching career at ENSAAMA school in Paris (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et Métiers d’Art). In addition to this, he worked as an artist and participated in lot of artistic exhibitions.
My mother, an accountant by profession, possessed a knack for managing finances and a more pragmatic eye for the everyday constraints of life… I learned a lot from her too !
I witnessed his work firsthand in his original place : modeling, sculptures, drawings, paintings, ceramics, and later, in another location in the countryside, on many weekends when his students came to practice, learn, and exchange ideas… particularly in bronze casting using the lost-wax technique. Perhaps this is where my general affinity for technology and my curiosity for discovery lie, the direction in which I've steered my professional life. Especially, towards innovation in industry.
I've looked back on my life, which hasn't always been easy… A resurgence of sensitivity to art has been evident for the past few years, a reminder of my younger years, of what I learned without even realizing it… Perhaps one regret : not having been able to discuss these artistic subjects with my father. We certainly wouldn't have always agreed, but isn't that the essence of art ? To evoke emotion, to provoke criticism in the noble and fair sense of the word?
Beyond all that, my creations follow my desires… Eclectic and diverse…
